Gloucester Camera Club are launching the Open Lockdown Challenge which is Open to the public to submit up to three photographs on a theme of their choice but the photos must have been taken since Lockdown was announced on 23rd March 2020
If you enjoy taking photos whether you are an enthusiast, a keen amateur or a pro our Lockdown Challenge is for you
Show us what lockdown has meant to you in a photograph that you have taken since lockdown was announced on 23rd March.
It doesn't matter if you take your photograph on a top of the range DSLR or a cheap mobile, if it's a photo that you are proud of, then we want to see it!
All images will be displayed on the club website, and then an open vote to choose everyone's favorite image.
Timetable:
Closing Date For Images: Midnight on 23rd June 2020
Voting Open: 24th June 2020
Voting Closes: 30th June 2020
Results Posted: 1st July 2020
Rules & Guidelines:
The rules and guidelines for the Gloucester Camera Club Open Lockdown Challenge are straight forward and we would ask you to follow them
For all themes any kind of photography is welcome, colour, monochrome, mixed, phone photography, tablet and so on, unless otherwise specified by the subject itself.
All images need to be taken after the announcement of the lockdown on 23rd March 2020
Past/old images will not be considered in the challenge – The idea is to get you snapping during these unusual times, not to just drag up old images!
Don’t’ forget to vote on the images that you like - we will circulate details of how to vote over the weekend. Voting will be open for 1 week and then the winner will be announced.
All images should be entered via the entry form linked below. A receipt email will be sent automatically to the address entered in the entry form. If you do not receive a receipt (and have checked your junk /spam folders) then assume your entry has not been successfully uploaded and email hello@gloucestercameraclub.co.uk to confirm that your entry has been received.
Images must be a maximum of 1920 pixels by 1080 pixels with a resolution of 72dpi.
File sizes must be under 1024kb or 1mb each. Images larger than this will be resized automatically and may not retain the original quality, aspect ratio or dimensions and may be partially cropped.
Files should be named in the following format: Full Name%Image Title.jpg – For example Joe Blogs%MyLockdown Photo.jpg – (Spaces are permitted in the file name)
Please keep the title as short as possible or we may need to change it slightly.
When the files are posted for viewing on the website, they will be renamed as just the photo title and will not show your name.
After voting, images with votes will be posted along with your name unless you indicate to remain anonymous on the entry form.
All parts of the image must be of your own work, so you may not composite an image with another that you have not taken personally during the lockdown period.
A photograph is defined as an image created by capturing light either on film or by digital camera sensor. As such, images that are entirely or predominantly created as digital art are not applicable.
By submitting your photographs for the Gloucester Camera Club - Open Lockdown Challenge you are agreeing to authorise us to publish them on our website; in our publications and on social media. You will retain the copyright of the photograph and the club will not use your photograph for direct financial gain without first seeking and obtaining your permission.
