“Water is very much my specialist subject. Whether it’s the magnificent stretch of waterfalls around Pontneddfechan in the southern Brecon Beacons, the glorious sandy beaches of South Wales, or the Bristol Channel beaches of Weston, Brean, Burnham and beyond with their huge tidal ranges, the area has plenty to offer water shooters of all abilities.”

Mike is a very active member of Bristol Photographic Society, he lectures on the BPS Intro To Photography course, he organises the Bristol Photographers With Disabilities group and is also the studio manager at BPS.
This talk charts his journey into creative portraits, discussing how to get started, the value of collaboration with others, thoughts composition and style, the importance of shooting for yourself, all illustrated with prints on Fotospeed papers and inks prints. Images are accompanied with a description of the processing in an attempt to de-mystify and to encourage members of the audience to become more adventurous and have a go themselves. If time permits (rarely does) I show how I made some of the creative images, including 'before and after' shots.

We require a few of us to prepare a 15 minutes (max) presentation to present to Hereford Camera Club. More details to follow
We welcome Phil, (who judged Round 5 of our Annual Competition last season,) back to the club to present some of his work.
Phil says he has been an Art lover from an early age, with a particular interest in Surrealism & Expressionism. His portfolio contains classic shots of Landscapes, Nature etc. but his passion is creating "other worldly" composites from as many as 1,000 of my photographs, that give a glimpse into worlds that don't exist.
These images take many hours, sometime months, to create.
To take a look at his work, his website is:

This is a lecture on my personal view of what judges look for in the composition of a good picture using my own photographs to illustrate. There are lots of my pictures in this lecture which I hope would be of interest to photographers of all levels of experience and include some audio-visual sequences.
Peter says that he has spent most of his life taking photographs and have been an active member of Beacon Camera Club for over 25 years. He gained his LRPS and ARPS in Visual Art and then a second ARPS in MultiMedia. He has a full range of photographic styles, turning his hand to most things, and have had success in club and regional competitions and have served as a judge for many years. His current photographic interest is in creating audio-visual sequences.
Our first of our regular round of 6 throughout the year. Let’s see if we can beat the regulars this season.
Good luck to all who have entered.

You may not know Bill’s name, but if you enjoy Coronation Street, then you will no doubt know Bill’s work as the antagonist, Charlie Stubbs, who was eventually murdered by Tracy Barlow in the show in 2007.
Bill is still a respected working actor, but is also a very well renowned landscape photographer and is a brand ambassador for Pentax.
Bill is a fantastic speaker and will be visiting us to share some of his photographic work. This is another talk not to be missed!
There will be NO MEETING this evening

Leigh will be introducing the work of Hugh Milsom. The talk will be based on Hugh’s exceptional landscapes, with Leigh’s commentary as an appreciation. Tonight, images entered in the Challenge Competition on the broad theme of macro / close-up photography, will be judged by the club members present at the meeting in the village hall.
We will be inviting members to comment and give their opinion on the merits of each image prior to voting, in which each member may vote for their 3 favourite images.
Our annual end of season (ish!) social get together - we’ll have some discussion about this event closer to the time, but unless someone has any other bright ideas, it is likely to be a visit to a local pub for a meal
